Otherwise,I am supposed to be working like a busy bee, and I am just hanging out, looking at Flickr things, just siting and looking and sometimes walking and looking. Thinking, jotting in my journal, waiting for an aha! moment...(hi,hi moments come so much easier...)
Ok. I do have a good excuse for all this, I am doing research, I am planning the rest of the large acrylics that I need to have for autumn... Yes oh yes.... Look at that green plate I bought on Saturday( thrifting)( I bought a blue one too) I just totally love blue and yellow-green- My Flickr is full of these colours- It's called obsession-
And this is my paw sticking out in a spot of sunshine- we are having a lovely day today- coolish- (oh yes lets not get tooo summery afterall),the sea is wavy and green- but its sunny, and Lucy is at summer camp today(she will be going a couple days a week) so I could walk- take pictures- and do research... Things are happening, more shows have been arranged and I don't even know if I will be able to take any time off this summer- and what do I do?
I look up and take photos... You would think that this was taken in some scorching hot country...
So take a look at Abigail MacLellan who has some of that longed for simplicity and an exquisite sense of colour and shape...
What have you done with your Monday?

What a gorgeous post Caramela! I almost feel like I'm there with you! You won't believe it, but you described our winter here - sunny blue skies and cool temperatures... funny old world, isn't it?
Now, there's so much to respond to in your post, I don't know where to start...! Firstly (lastly) I just checked out Abigail MacLellan - wow! Love her work! Do they call it "abstraction" when the choice of shapes and colours is the object of the painting? I'm not sure, but that is what struck me about her work too. You are so right - such simplicity, and yes, the choice of colours and shapes was absolutely exquisite. Great find! (You're an art detective yourself you know!) I can't wait to see how these influences are expressed in your new works!
Love your sky photo and your "paw" photo made me smile :) I actually really liked the way the shadows had cut-outs in them like your shoes! I also share your love/obsession with blues and greens. What seems like my current yellow theme is actually a badly mixed green(!) I wanted something like your beautiful plate, maybe a bit more yellow-green.
Now, to the beautiful J and new ways of being domestic... Wow! Yes yes yes! How right you are! Remember when it was all shiny metal surfaces and technology was exploding, and now we are so much more focussed on environmental products and the imagery has become softer and more nature-themed. Love J daydreaming her home!
I think I should stop here before this becomes an essay! Sorry for babbling on so much + thanks again for such a wonderful post! K
p.s. Oops, almost forgot, there's more! I looked up Kate Jenkins + I think you are the official art detective! She is amazing! Great find - that minute detailing is just incredible. I have the link here that I saw it on (as you said it wouldn't open for you?). Hope this one works:
