My mind is greedy and curious. Which makes me lose my direction often. I stray.
I get confused. My artwork gets muddled.
I want to do it all. Realism, Modernism, Minimalism, Whateverism,
you name it, I want it.
On a good day, (if I am feeling generous with myself) I think that it's that I want to digest it all.
Know it all.
And I am often the victim of my own greed, which is rather typical, right?
And then, THEN, it occurred to me that there is one cure,
a line of breadcrumbs for me to follow... and return HOME!
Simply drawing.
Drawing is like our handwriting, like our voice, it cannot be faked, changed, maybe it can be taught and refined with good practice, but it is ours and only ours. For better or for worse.
And ...I am delighted and grateful to Susan, for her very, very kind feature of my artwork on her lovely blog Yardwork. You can also check out Susan's Etsy shop here!

Fabulous drawings Annamaria! I love them! What are you on about with this talk of a greedy mind... is that at all possible? There are greedy actions but only a curious mind I think - and that's a good thing :) Kx
i've been thinking a lot about your drawing posts or mentions and totally agree. could relate to this 'greed' very well too ~ nice to feel that i'm not the only one feeling that way. it's especially that way when i've been away from working for too long ~ i want to start everything at once and do it all! bit anxiety driven too i guess.
sketches really are personal and the quickest way to access self! these are gorgeous.
xx
Amen....great post Annamaria. I think many of us, me included, related to that sense of greed of wanting to do and be all. You are so right about drawing though...it is a calming path back to the self and learning to trust your own voice. Have a great week!
The curious are greedy in the nicest way!
yes. drawing is always home for me too.
