Day 34- Cold feet-

Day 34- Cold feet
9 x 10 inches, watercolor on Arches CP

I am feeling it . The anxiety of this move has hit me. And the boxes. And the
all-over-the-place-things-of-all-sorts that have overtaken our home. I look out the window, and
a perfectly beautiful deer is munching away on what's left of the roses, not minding the rain one bit. I grab my sketchbook, and draw frantically, and ask myself how much money would we really lose if we cancelled those tickets.

Moving is one of life's traumas it is said. I have already gleaned 1/4 of our belongings just in case we move; and more to glean. Twice a year the trash pick will haul away almost anything that is set on the street and this has become a favorite red letter day for me,
more tossing! In a new place its not just the house I dream of but a big roomy studio, nearly empty and quiet. I wish you much joy in your new place
xx

Thank you Julie. I also crave for a nearly empty, white studio above all else. I started leaving things behind very early on because I always seemed to be on the move. However, I am afraid that 'things' have a habit of sneaking into our home when we are asleep at night...I cannot sufficiently account for their presence in any other way !!:-)

Moving has been spoken in our household too. 14 yrs is the longest we've ever lived in a house. Do we just have the itch for change or is the house and yard really as big as we feel.
I feel for you, Annamaria. Moving isn't for the weak of heart. New home, new friends, new shops, new life. But it often leads to wonderful life changing explorations. I hope so for you and yours.

Really love your work and your sensibility (as much as I can imagine what that is). Just the focus on the everyday with delicious slabs of color but unafraid to search and leave footprints in your process. Good luck with your perambulations and moves
