fresh from the life drawing studio
It's late Friday night, we just watched a not very good movie- but we really just needed to turn off the brains...we almost did-still I can't go to bed without showing you these, I was so happy drawing today- I am still happy which is unusual...-what usually happens is that I get ecstatic over a piece and five hours later I hate it totally and absolutely...but not tonight- even if I was not really using a chocolate brown (!)but a venetian red which doesn't seem to either print right or show right on the screen- where on earth is that soft reddishness , and gentle glow that it has on my paper?

Annamaria, these are beautiful! I really love the airiness and how you combine pattern, color and figure!
Oh, by the way I know this ambivalence about my own work sometimes, one moment I love it and the next moment I think it’s terrible… then it’s always good to get some distance.
Have a good day!
Annamaria, these are very nice. I still like how you're approaching these, the choices you're making with color and white space. And great that you're still feeling good about it--that's a good sign!
Wow! No wonder you're still happy! They are FABULOUS! The top one especially, but I'm still trying to figure out why... maybe it just speaks to me..! Something about the delicate black lines behind the head is just so utterly arresting to me. Just love it. I'm happy because I FINALLY booked in for crochet lessons - Yah! About time, yes. Glad you decided to post these. Thanks for sharing/showing! :) K
Thank you all- I wish I could answer eachone individually like my good friend Kylie does, but I am sleeping while you write away and I find them all the comments in the morning, which of course makes my breakfast very sweet!

Annamaria, both of those pieces are so beautiful. I love the colors. Your art is so unusual, I've never seen anything like it. I really, really like your style.
I'm the opposite of you-- I usually dislike my art when I finish it, and then it grows on me and I start liking it a day or two later.
You lucky thing Stacy, how nice to have that reaction to ones art!! Its just my temperament, I am prone to self-flaggelation!Anyway, I am working on it...I will take your compliments on board and really enjoy them! thank you,
Annamaria
Your work is amazing! I love the colour, pattern and the way these make me smile. You are so great! I agree with Kylie...'arresting' is the perfect word for the way the lines captivate my eyes. xoxo
