Friday morning at the life-drawing studio

Our model had an amazing tattoo on her lovely back- to be honest I generally dislike tattoos-I know this is an extremely unpopular view but so be it- However, it doesn't prevent me from appreciating a very beautiful tattoo when I see one. But I still don't want to spoil the human figure which I love for its untouched form- (maybe it's because I was surrounded with all these white ancient sculptures as a kid...) so my question was what to do with the dragon? I rather like the idea of the dragon as an ally- I was thinking about that the other day when I was considering buying a toy-dragon for my desk- So I rearranged the graphic elements and patterns to my liking...of course- And of course working intuitively means I throw allot of my work in the recycling bin-but this is a keeper!
How was your morning?

Oh yes, this one is a keeper! I love the figure work - beautiful lines. The dragon and snake look fabulous there informing the composition. Just lovely, Annamaria. K x

I had to look twice to see the dragon! The composition, body shape and colours really draw the eye in. I'd certainly keep it too!

I love the concept of taking the tattoos elsewhere in the room! Clever and it looks very artistic! :)

Oh YESSSSS! This is a very beautiful piece. I needed a little Monday morning inspiration and since I didn't see this on Friday, I was blessed with it today. Love it. xoxo

Hi Annamaria,
What a lovely composition. I love the way you've changed the colours of the lines of the body and moved the tattoo elsewhere. I'm with you on your view of tattoos. Your colour and style as always, is beautiful.
