Home-sweet-home

My home is next to the sea.
I watch it in storms and I watch it when at peace.
I am spending my time doing small watercolors that are becoming more and more like taking notes of the world around me. I am very unsure of the direction I want to take now. So I am thinking, meditating, taking notes, praying, waiting until it all becomes clearer to me.

Meanwhile I find comfort in a tidy home.

It sounds like we live in a similar environment. I can completely understand this watercolor, the sky and sea, the very nature of the elements bearing down on us, sometimes fresh and lovely, at times wild and threatening. But always changing.

Beautiful photo Annamaria! and I love that you live by the sea :)) When we were living in London we hired a car every so often just to drive somewhere coastal to reconnect with the sea - it's a powerful soul-feeding force. Good luck with your contemplations. Kx

Hello Annamarie,

I have been reading your posts regularly for several months. I first saw one of your paintings in someone's favorites through Etsy. I have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your drawings, paintings, responses to the news and everything. I receive several automatically downloaded updates from different blogs, and yours has become one of my favorites. I have noticed that you have slowed down since your computer was down, and I have missed your posts! I am finding your work very inspiring. I, too, am a mother in my 40s (I'm 43 and have two daughters-- 14 and almost 16 year old.) I am an art teacher, and I am facing my first art show in 20 years in less than a month! I'm still too busy with life and class to be nervous and worried! I have really, really liked your sensitive drawings combined with paint, your sense of conveying real messages or memories in a sort of symbolic way, and the small scale of your works. Your colors are beautiful. I just want to say thank you. I feel a little guilty that I just take and take from you. I thank you very much for sharing. I hope you and yours are well.

From Michigan,

Kristine
