The education of an artist-(sigh...)

Well, this is part of my education as an artist. Knowing how to evaluate my own work.
Knowing how to keep going when it's tough. Knowing how to rest after a big undertaking, instead of scraping all that I have just finished, and plunging head first(no brain) into something new...

'She' was there on the mantlepiece as I was taking the 'interrogation shots' of the fruit and veg paintings...
She was one of the little paintings that were 'binned' by me before the show. Suddenly she looked so complete and delightful. Wasn't there a song once that went: 'I just can't get away from my self-elf-elf...?'Or someting of the sort? It's true. We can disguise but we can't change our essence. Thankfully! I redid my shop today...I am thrilled! There is tons of work in that closet. I will keep putting things up all week. Maybe I will rest a little too. Maybe breathe. Hmmm. Maybe have carrot cake...Hey, it's getting better...

Thank you for your kindness and patience-
Hugs-

I understand those self doubts. Sometimes I look at my own work and think “Nah! What a load of…” But then someone comes along and writes on my blog, “Hey this is wonderful, keep it up”.

I think she's quite endearing.

'She' is delightful. That happens to me, too. sometimes you need distance before you 'see' the piece as it really is. Sometimes you'll be delighted, other times you'll recognize that it needs to be redone or binned.
Hugs.

It's all part of the process, disappointment and victory, doubts and more doubts and searching and trying....The only way to grow.
I like your compositions and colour schemes a lot and as I said before I see beauty in lots of your sketches.

She is very delightful.. and none the worse for her stint in the bin at all! How funny you are Annamaria to have thought her bin-able! But yes, we are our own worst critics, aren't we? Can't wait to see what else you have hiding in the cupboard! :) Kx

Oh my goodness! I'm happy to see these paintings! And I am missing the old ones, too! I tried to peek in etsy to see if there is a way to see your treasuries. I bet they are fascinating to study. (I guess looking at favorites is sort of similar.) I just love how these pictures have that similar feel to each other with the closeness in tone the colors have and the secret language they seem to speak. So exciting to see where your brain and heart and hands takes you...... Thanks for sharing.
