Cyclamens and 'Les Miserables'

Cyclamens and 'Les Miserables'
acrylic on board
9 x 12 inches

This lovely book that I bought from the library sale, I haven't been able to read yet.
I read it once when I was about thirteen. My mother insisted that I read all the 'classics' then, and I did so (because I was a good and obedient girl, eventhough nobody thought so-I wonder why?)
So perhaps this is another painting about my mother. She adored this book then. She loved the garden love scene. The love letters. My mom is a true romantic...( I love you mom)

Hugs,
Annamaria Potamiti

It does make this painting all the more heart felt when you know the story behind it. I love the feeling of these things, waiting to be nutured, both the plant and the book, with our attention.

I love this. I thought of these things nurturing me, but you turned that around, and made the things waiting to be nurtured- thank you- I love it:)

Gardening and reading are two things my mom didn't do when I was young. She was more into sports, Creedence Clearwater, and camping. How did she ever raise a kid like me....into art, gardening, and hotels?
Lovely painting Annamaria!

Even though the cylamen is red, my attention is all on the book, and its secrets. You painted it amazingly well.
