How some things end, and how new friendships are formed-

Shy Mr Bear-
(He was chuffed I painted his portrait. He had no idea anyone ever would)
acrylics, 10 x10 inches

And I will never again paint something that is larger than my scanner (until I get a larger scanner...)- I couldn't fit poor Mr Bear  all in !-
(well, obviously, knowing how large bears are- silly me!)
So, my sweets, I painted bears because someone requested that I do, but then it appears I got
carried away and painted more than was expected-
 but then again maybe I needed it to in other ways and for other
reasons, if you know what I mean.
 Then Mr Bear (who is thus staying with me so we can have some meaningful discourse once in a while) whispered in my ear an idea for a whole new project that unfortunately or fortunately ( as the case may be) involves no living room watercolors. ( I think I exhausted that really)
Probably no watercolors at all for some time. (Does that mean that I am water-colored out? ) Whatever the deepest truths involved here (and you know I am living my life from one symbolic moment to
 the next...) - I am heading to new artistic pastures, until of course the wheel turns again...
 And all I can disclose at this point is that there are some clever hens that Mr Bear introduced me to. (and it seems that I can't help myself when I write these things) (sorry)

And while I am off to become better acquainted with all my new friends,I will leave you with a delightful poem written by an anonymous monk in the eight century, somewhere in Ireland:

I and Pangur Ban my cat
'Tis a like task we are at:
Hunting mice is his delight,
Hunting words I sit all night.

Better far than praise of men
'Tis to sit with book and pen:
Pangur bears me no ill-will,
He too plies his simple skill.

'Tis a merry task to see
At our tasks how glad are we,
When at home we sit and find
Entertainment to our mind.

Oftentimes a mouse will stray
In the hero Pangur's way;
Oftentimes my keen thought set
Takes a meaning in its net.

'Gainst the wall he sets his eye
Full and fierce and sharp and sly;
'Gainst the wall of knowledge I
All my little wisdom try.

When a mouse darts from its den,
O how glad is Pangur then!
O what gladness do I prove
When I solve the doubts I love!

So in peace our task we ply,
Pangur Ban, my cat, and I;
In our arts we find our bliss,
I have mine and he has his.

Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade;
I get wisdom day and night
Turning darkness into light.
