Day 168- Still life with squash

Day 168- Still life with squash
5,5 x 8 inches acrylics, acrylic inks and house paint on vintage paper

Almost gave up on this. I am not sure about the white house paint. I like the way it feels on the
brush but it kind of deadens the colors I mix it with. Maybe I should mix it with some Zinc white as well.
Maybe it's not about the house paint at all. Maybe the composition is too flat. But I like what is happening in the background. Tomorrow is another day. 10:54pm now. Goodnight.

It's funny- the conversations we have with our work, what parts feel right to us and not...
As an outside observer it looks complete to me, balanced with beautiful color... :)

I wondered if the house paint might do that. Could you use semi-gloss or add a glossy gel medium? I like the colour palette, especially the background. xo Carole

Thank you Carole. I am troubled with the house paint, I am not sure the medium really works with it in the way it works with usual acrylics. I have to try a little more though before I give up on it. xo
