A single apple-

In acrylics on canvas.
In the past few years I have opened many different doors to expression. For the longest time I believed
representational painting could not really make a meaningful statement at a time where photography
could so brilliantly record 'what is seen'. I have changed my mind. I think for a list of reasons. One is
personal. I have been diving inside my head for far too long. I needed out and to have my mind refreshed.
Secondly, painting representationally involves 'strokes'- brushstrokes that 'stroke' the contour and the form of what is seen- it's a purely sensuous involvement with the 'viewed world' that is totally unique. And then there is the challenge of finding a way to paint 'new' with an 'old medium'. Anyway, I don't intend to write a long essay, just to briefly note my thoughts on this new course my work is taking.
Hugs-
