A bird who finally found the 'right sort' of home...

Reading quietly in the library....
The dancers- ( from all my memories of -believe it or not- bellydancing)-
My desk had been not just my creative space but my main space for quite some time now. It's probably good for my mental health that I have a family who takes me out for walks and forces me to cook , clean and generally be normal. I finished four prints this week, but my brain feels terribly crowded with so many more. They are fine when they are in my head ,but then when they are on paper they suddenly need so many readgustments. Fussy, fussy... It took me some time to figure out what would be the best paper to use with my printer, and the best medium in regards to colour. Suddenly a lightning hit my brain(oh boy...) and I did a colour sample, using acrylics, watercolors, gouache, ink and different papers...Daaaaa. Why didn't I think of this to begin with, instead of tons of failed attempts at printing? You can see my color sample on the top left... I realised gouache did the trick. And you know, I needed a change,I really just hate how acrylics ruin my brushes and sometimes I just want to ban them from my life. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel very protective towards their brushes?
I will be putting these up in my store in the next couple of days, and I will scan them so the images won't be dark or sad looking like they did with my first lot... I don't know about you but I certainly live and learn!!!
Have a great day and (eventhough I am late since I am in a different time zone), IF you haven't checked everyone else yet, do enjoy the creative spaces at Kotooyooo....

Great prints. I especially love the photo of all the pieces and your supplies together. (By the way, I'm in a different time zone too, so I just post late at night on my Wednesday. ;))
Hi! I found your blog through Woollywotnots. Your art is wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. Vancouver is one of my favorite cities-- love your pic of the mosiac fishies.
I love the picture of your work space. Just beautiful.
how sweet those pictures are! I know what you mean about mental health and normal life, sometimes I can sit for hours and hours oblivious to time, and reality. :)
I can see why you'd want to spend loads of time in your creative space, its lovely :) Your work is lovely too.
your new work is lovley :)
Love them. All of them Brilliant!!
The little ones have arrived!!! I couldn't believe how quick they were! Sooooooo lovely - even more exquisite than I'd realised from the photos. Thank you so much!! K xx
Now, about this post... Great new pieces, Anna Maria. Your desk always looks so gorgeous (and I have to admit I'm loving your colour sample too!) I'm very protective about my brushes too and you're right, acrylics are nasty to them! The number of hours I've spent massaging those brushes to try and get all the staining out! Not that I've painted in a while... Anyway, love your paintings! Thanks for sharing them with us :) Kylie x
Oh wow, I love this post. Your pieces are beautiful and so pretty. I love the colours used.
Ooooh so very wonderful! I love how little struggles with art inspire even more ingenuity and creative thinking. All of those pieces connect with me and made me feel all happy this morning. Thank you so much for the award the other day and I am sorry I haven't been near a computer until this morning. You are so sweet! xoxo
Gorgeous work - the car ride is super!

I love your bellydancers! Having just had a baby I can see myself in them I think!
