How can a Sunday go wrong when it starts with pancakes? I have always been a pancake snob- I have vowed never again to eat pancakes in a commercial setting and I always make ours from scratch. For the last fifteen years I have not used sugar in my mix but have replaced it with ripe bananas. Recently we had a pancake craving though and alas no bananas! so I experimented with apple sauce and I actually now like that even better. A must try! The pancakes gave us all the energy we needed to get on with a team-clean of our family car, and as a reward for a job well done we went on a picnic.

lovely post annamaria. i am a real coward when it comes to cold water but my husband swims in the pond on hampstead heath all through the winter. i can't understand how people's bodies can be so different! x
Hi Annamaria, I always make my pancakes from scratch too. So much tastier. I really like your idea of replacing the sugar with apple of banana. Yum Yum. I will have to try this. I bet they are delicious!
heheh..I love the way you said...'of course some of us would if they were allowed'. Beautiful post Annamaria! You make me smile. xoxo
Touche! We also began a great Sunday with pancakes and were also missing out on banana's!!
September is my favourite month for picnicking! No crazy bees or ants or humidity to ruin a lovely meal in the grass.
Applesauce is a lovely substitute. One I manage to forget when mixing up a batch of 'cakes. Great tip!
