Day 4- Rename is the game-

From the NYTimes: ..."rebrand the dogs and save them from extinction..." and '... dry cleaner ...
financed float in the local parade..."
I tried to stay away from the first pages today.
I found two articles that deal with marketing strategies (hoping I guess to learn something too) one involving a small business and one a mission to save 'wild dogs' from extincion. It made me wonder about image and real value. Is it all about image, or is it about the name of the image?
I am a little tired of this graph paper. It takes very few additional markings to make it all look overworked. I will do day 5 with the same paper
tomorrow and then try something different for next week's five days of drawings.
In a funny way this drawing does work. You can tell I am missing white paper by the round shapes I collaged.
The day has been long and I am off to bed.
Hugs-

I love these!! I really like the graph paper. I am like that too though too much background and then I can't play with the piece as much as I want to. You are one very talented girl! (envious here....in a good and challenged way though;)

Dee you are a sweetheart(I always love your comments) and a very, very talented girl yourself!!
It's this thing about the graph paper, it's too nice by itself so it's hard to do too much or you've crossed the overworked line!A challenge indeed!

I do like this piece and I think you are right about the graph paper - it forces you to minimise and get the most expression out of the smallest piece maybe... What about using that paper to do negative space drawings? That would look so wild, don't you think?! Kx

Love the movement and rhythm in this piece -- and the contrast in scale between the circles and the drawn marks on the paper.

I'm REALLY loving this drawing. I like all the contrasts in texture, line and shape. Hope you had a good rest this weekend and I look forward to this week's drawings.
